2022 Port Harvest Tour; 9/22/2022-10/2/2022 (Porto, Portugal): Cask sample. Believed to be around 80 years old, this Port comes from small casks, and they drew the samples off the top, which accounts for how clear and free of sediment the wine is. It is amber-tawny in color, and exudes fantastic vanilla and shaved cedar wood notes on the nose. On the palate, there are coconut and vanilla notes, accompanied by an incredibly long finish with waves of complexity. The beautiful acidity and balance are absolutely beautiful.
