Lots of stewed jammy fruits. I decanted the first half of the bottle to drink immediately. It started out great with a pleasant finish that lasted longer than I expect out of a wine at this price. The nose matched the deep berry flavors. The second half I left uncorked in bottle for over three hours and then poured out in to a decanter. THe second half became more raisiny and the finish started to drop off. I take this to mean that this wine is nearing the end of its peak drinkability window.

Jammy aroma that you can smell several feet away. What is important to tasting this wine is the decanting and using the right wine glass. I *really* needed a glass, so I popped an poured into a traditional cabernet glass. The wine came across as extremely hot and hard. But, i gave it time to breathe and drank it out of a zinfandel glass, and it much smoother and nuanced. Despite the jammy aroma, there is not a great deal of fruit left in the wine.

-- decanted, and tasted over 3 hours -- -- tasted non-blind -- -- 66% Zinfandel, 34% Syrah --
NOSE: very expressive bouquet of ripe raspberries and blackberries -- jammy; faint whiffs of oak gain intensity with air time, and a chalky earth element helps keep the fruit from being too much; not complex, but very pleasing for what it is.
BODY: ruby color of medium depth; clear; medium-full body.
TASTE: ripe red fruits dominate this rich zinfandel blend - it's not roasted or earthy; very silky mouthfeel; the 15.8% alc. comes through a bit more than I'd prefer; palate is full but disjointed; the finish lasted for 20-25 sec.; not much acid, but the tannins are so well-integrated that this comes across as well-balanced; very good, although not complex. This is drinking great right now, but could probably gain some elegance with short term aging. I would buy this again.
I was looking for a quality fruit-forward wine to have with some homemade pizza and this hit the bullseye! No extra points awarded, however, for the exceptional pairing.

Really enjoyed this wine. It is 66% Zinfandel and 34% Syrah and it was full bodied and drank very smoothly. We cannot wait to get another bottle. Only 6 barrel produced
