  • Unfortunately, this bottle is showing signs of damage from improper storage. It is certainly not the same experience as last time. You always take a chance when buying older vintages from certain types of retailers. With that, though, it’s still a nice bottle of Chardonnay.

  • This Chardonnay is a testament to allowing good wines to age and reach their full potential. I can tell by the previous reviews that this one was likely shut down for some time. She and I both agreed that this was the best white wine that either of us had tasted in recent memory. It looked like liquid gold in the glass. The nose developed beautifully along the way into vanilla & cream with flower accents. The acidity was in balance with the mouth feel, if that makes any sense to you. It tasted of more vanilla & cream with a loooong finish. We both agreed that this is what Chardonnay should be like. And it’s not even a Grand or 1er Cru! We bought a bottle and can't wait to try it again. It’s certainly within its drinking window now, but it has a couple of years of life left in it. We won’t wait that long to drink it.

  • For the first time, I recognise some class, however it is far, far away. It is balanced, has no flaws, and is rather pleasant. However for 30 euro wine, this is not enough. To sum it up: it lacks character and expresiveness.

  • This wine is either completely shutdown or it is lacking something rather essential for a wine: hedonism.

  • Dallas 2nd Wednesday Group says Goodbye to Lola's (Lola's Restaurant, Dallas, TX): WIML90

Tasted October 14, 2009 at an offline.

Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Light nose of shale, sea foam, a bit of kiwi and some notes of lime. Flavors of quince, peach and minerals. Medium acidity, light to medium body. Drink over the short term, perhaps the medium term.
