just OK this time around, almost felt like it needed more time... I find '06 and '05 red burg to be a bit brutish (in different ways)... I think the '05's need more time (and in some cases much more time)

nice wine, not quite as brutish as some of the 2006's can be... tho this was full bodied for a red burg it still had some 'light on its feet' elements, medium acidity but enough to hold up the body, palate was full of dark cherry hard candy (ie not too sweet), some sort of good black note (not smoke... but something pleasantly aggressive... maybe black licorice?), feel like it has at least another ten years to go, good drinking by itself (without meal) and I definitely liked it as much or more on night two

Pleasantly surprised by this. No formal notes, but I thought this vibrant and interesting. Feels like it still has a ways to go, but this is in a nice place.

Good medium dark color, quite rich, almost hard cherry candy, interesting spice, some wood cinnamon notes? A lot of intensity here, though lacking some elegance.

(Louis Jadot Chapelle-Chambertin) Medium dark cherry red color with pale meniscus; lovely, cherry, framboises, roses nose; tasty, cherry, framboises, roses palate; needs 5 years; medium-plus finish

La Paulée de Los Angeles Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - Santa Monica CA): Walkaround tasting, at the Acker table. Nicely rich wine still on its ascent. Still slightly candied black fruit coming across today, I fully expect that will soften as it reaches its peak drinking window.
