That taste from two months back was no lark. This is quite nice. Fresh and chalky. Very lively. Terrific balance. Even some sweet flavors on the low 1.1g/L dosage. 74% Pinot Meunier, 15% Chard and the rest from perpetual reserve going back to '98. This version is base 2020.Disgorged 11/22. A great dinner compantion.

My last of two bottles. September 2018 disgorgement from mostly Meunier, with about 20% Chardonnay, all from the 2016 vintage (per the back label). No dosage. Peachy/gold in color. This is tasting much like the first bottle that I had back in 2020, very consistent in fruit, acidity and structure. So, three years between bottles, yet the wine remains the same vivid and bright as the first, which says a lot about how well this wine was made and the stuffing it possesses. Dried lime, blood orange, strawberry and a cleansing, saline finish. Cranberry is also in this bottle, and it's in the finish too, adding a nice grip. I paid $40 for this wine back in 2019, and I would buy more of it based on the way this is built and how lovely this wine shows. Once the weather cools down, I'll seek out some more, for sure.

2018 base, disgorged December 2020, zero dose. Quite tropical with ripe lychee and papaya flavors. Reasonable acid, and avoids austerity despite the lack of dosage, but the ripeness here is well outside my strike zone. Retasted a week later; still boring. Tropical melon sprinkled with salt, just not my preferred flavor profile. I generally like this producer, but this 2018 is a miss.

Served blind. Spicy yet mellow nose of mature apples. Fresher apple on a rich, juicy palate. Supposedly no dose but you wouldn't know it. A very nice surprise. My favorite wine on the day. Disgorged Aug '21. Blend of Pinot Meunier and Chard.
