Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 89.7 points

  • 2nd of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level, big step down on June bottle, flavours similar but too much VA making mid palate seem thin and weedy, hint here of something going wrong in bottling or with cork though not corked. Just about VG (16) and far behind Clerget Echezeaux 03 on same night.

  • 1st of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level - bright, dark ruby, hint of brown on rim; plum, spice, balsamic, rich and complex; medium/full, long, quite persistent, decent concentration for 06, surprisingly sweet, silky/polished core confounding expectations of edgy Corton, seemingly more Liger-Belair than Corton, well made, limited upside, 12+ years. A perhaps mean F (17.5) with upgrade expected given pleasure factor.
