More than I expected, especially at this age. The subtle, flowery nose suggest a wine diluted by time, but this has held in nicely. Fruit, fruit and more fruit with mellow tannins showing up mid pallet. Pomegranate, lush strawberry, and raspberries. Smokey minerals around the edges, and a touch of terroir.

This wine forcefully states the case for Nero d'Avola being included among the major wine groups at my table and to bring me the sun of Sicily in a great glass of wine. Beautiful ruby red shading to a watermelon pink on the meniscus. Tears form after 10 to 20 seconds and run down the glass. Berries on the nose with a hint of leather. There is fruit in the attack and dry tannins on the finish that begs for another mouthful. Let me finish writing to lift my glass!
