This Zinfandel has held up almost shockingly well - still loads of fruit left but not overpowering by any extent. It feels weird to say this about a wine that is 41 years old, but this feels like a wonderfully balanced wine on the palate - medium bodied, brick-ish red, but still full of life. Served pop and pour and was ready to go right away, and didn't show any signs of declining during the 3 hours it was consumed over. It's hard to beat old California Zinfandel...

This wine was cellared well and really matured into a good Zinfandel. Layers of flavors, mostly blackberry, but with a very peppery overtone. Enjoyed this wine immensely.

It was easy to tell this bottle at one point was hugh...but it has lost it's edge. A bit brackish with much of the expected fruit lost with the years.

VERY RICH NOSE OF BLACK CHERRIES, CHOCOLATE, AND DRIED FRUITS. FLAVOR LIKE THE NOSE WITH A MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.

It’s a typical older Turley zin. Why do people pay outrageous sums of money for this unbalanced, alcoholic licorice juice?
