  Drank last nite at the Kittle House for our anniversary. Decanted briefly (not long enough). Pretty ruby core, color looks great. Very generous and quite lovely nose of red cherries, earth, violets and tar, and lasted well through the nite with steadfast intensity. Medium to full-bodied, lots of red fruit here--black cherries, though not overly ripe or sweet. Much spicier than I expected, and much gamier as well. I expected a soft, elegant, feminine wine but, though demonstrating some level of charm, not at all up to my expectations. It was more muscular & terroir-driven, with a solid acidic core and was less fruity and velvety than I'd been led to believe. Went great with my duck and was very enjoyable, but didn't wow me as I'd hoped.
