Tasted at dinner at Herringbone Restaurant, Adelaide this wine had a deep and dark cherry colour with an immediately attractive nose of blackberry, dark cherries, raspberry and liquorice with touches of eucalyptus, thyme and black pepper. The palate was rich with plenty of dark fruit characters, earthiness and a lovely persistent fruit sweetness and silkiness that persists and lifts the wine into something special. A reminder of the quality of old vine Grenache based wines in Southern Australia.

Tasted blind on Steak Night 🍷🥩🍾 with Rhone blends as the theme, and won WOTN against pretty heavy hitters like 2007 Clos des Papes, 2001 La Nerthe, 2007 Jonata, etc. Medium crimson color turning tawny rust at the rim with with a wide transparent band at the edge. The nose is very rustic, funky and slightly oxidized, which reminded me of Château Rayas. The palate is medium-bodied with a silky texture and vibrant acidity to carry the ripe raspberry, plum core. There are peculiar secondary notes of smoke, forest floor, and rusted pipes. Finishes long and dusty with hints of pepper. Drink now until 2030.

A pretty good example of the Aussie Shiraz genre. Doesn't have the depth or complexity of flavour of the more exclusive/expensive/boutique type wines but as an everyday wine at this price point it is one I would revisit regularly

Langton's Classification Tasting (Carraigeworks, Sydney): Graphite, earth and plum. Lovely mouthfeel, balanced and still quite youthful.
