I think the palate isn't impressive me compare to the nose which has losing it's tension and each components kind of falling apart with quite alcoholic spicy tones that finish with smelly inkish notes.   Very dark purple. Seemed to our like treacle and inital taste matched the analogy! Flavours of cinnamon, oak and chocolate. Lots going on. Won gold medal in Winpac 2001 - can see why.
