Not sure how I came to own this bottle. Surprisingly good out of the bottle; dark purple color with a touch of brown at the edges. I thought it might need some time out of the bottle but not so. Smooth merlot taste with fully developed tannins, if not a bit one-dimensional with a heavy berry flavor overwhelming some hints of oak. The first 30 minutes was surprisingly good, very drinkable, went well with a pork dish. However, after 45-60 minutes, it became overly sweet and heavy, not nearly as enjoyable. Nonetheless, it exceeded my modest expectations. A quick check of current prices says that this is an inexpensive wine (retail +/-$15). If so, a good value.

Bought this more than 2 years ago, and wanted to see what a little cellar time did for it. Garnet in color, with faint bricking at edges. Aromas of bell pepper, cassis, and a touch of acetate make this fairly true to the varieties, and also very old world. I suspect that if tasted blind, this would fool many into thinking it was a Bordeaux. Raspberries, blackberries, and a bit of green pepper on the palate. Smoky aftertaste, with some herbs. Bit of glycerin in the texture and finish. For under $10, this is a pretty nice wine, and certainly not an Aussie fruitbomb by any stretch of the imagination.

Right on the line of drinkable. Crossed over to undrinkable by the second day.

definitely better on second day, so let it breath about an hour. coloration tended towards the browns but no real issues. decent value and reliable.
