I'm sure this will get better, but it was so enjoyable tonight. More bright, sappy, juicy red fruit than I expected (I thought '06 was not a top vintage), with a bright, fresh, acidic tone that made it very food friendly. Mid-weight, soft, and although there is not yet much in the way of secondary aromas, it is just an incredibly pleasurable bottle.

BBQ on beach in Westport w friends. This is a lovely wine that works well with grilled chicken. Medium red color. Plenty of black fruit - blueberry and earthy, mineral flavors. Light body with good tannic structure and acidity, this has the stuffing to live for many years. 12% alcohol according to the label. Delicious.

(Catherine & Pierre Breton Bourgueil Clos Senechal) This was a rockstar on this day. Huge, dark, tannic, funky and rich. Great pure, palate staining fruit. Obviously young but what potential. As good as the 2005.

Very juicy, bright bistro wine. Light tannins. Some "rustic" bottle stank. I like it a lot.

On open, quite vegetal, dark fruit, drop of funk. After a couple of days, lost most fruit, very green and stemmy.
