Mini vertical with '94 and '99. Was expecting a lot from this one, but it was my least favorite. A bit "sharp" rather than integrated. Certainly not bad, but just not compelling.

Da flasken lige er åbnet er duften læder, cigar tobak og svag frugt. Farven er flot rubinrød med en svag markering af en orange kant, som er et tegn på alder. Smagen er gammel kælder. Den er gået over.

A bit one dimensional as fruit seemed a bit over extracted and not balanced perfectly. Big w/ dark fruit, licorice and tobacco dominate the palate. Beautiful but not the best Canalicchio. Tasted like 2003 was a hot vintage. Don't think time would have brought it together.

A swathe of European 2003s (Chicago, IL): A horrid, stewey heap of some unidentifiable organic matter. It's like it's so ripe it's turned rotten. Into the dump bucket.

Opens up of half an hour. Bright red with just a touch brown at the edges. Fruity, but also a touch of barnyard and earth. Quite fresh actually, and still has years to go. Very long taste.
