Decanted for 2+ hours but that might have been too long. Great nose of stewed fruit and loam, and initial palate of slightly stewed red fruit is nice then went weak. The finish is a bit tart with sour cherry notes and then it comes back around with some greater refinement. Will try the balance tonight, but doubt it will have improved. Not bad for an original purchase price of $15 7 years ago when I bought a case. I drank most early and liked it enough to see how it would age slightly given the strength of the 2000 vintage. I think a pop and pour with a little air time in the glass is probably best or this or less decanting time than I gave it.

Surprisingly youthful at this point and held for about 2 hours before starting to head downhill.
