Wine Buzz Kakis Night 2 (Pine Close): Appearance is clear, deep intensity, garnet colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of toasted oak, sweet blackcurrant, dark cherries, leather. Developed. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, firm medium+ tannins, full body. Medium+ flavor intensity, with flavours of sweet blackcurrant, dark cherries, tobacco, spice and leather. Medium finish. Good quality. Was nice on pop and pour. But became quite shut down after 1 hour+ in the bottle. Drink up now, I don't think this can last much longer.

Berry Bros. & Rudd Bordeaux Tasting Evening (Amoy Street): Appearance is clear, deep intensity, garnet colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of toasted oak, sweet blackcurrant and dark cherries. Developing. On the palate, dry, medium acidity, medium alcohol, firm medium+ tannins, full body. medium+ flavor intensity, with flavours of sweet blackcurrant, dark cherries, blueberries, and a touch of spice and leather. Good quality. Doesn't seem to be going downhill yet, but theoretically the vintage report for 2002 is not optimistic. Good price and I will drink it up very soon.

This seems to me to be a very pleasant mature drinking Bordeaux with minerality, fruit and balance. Very pleasant and enjoyable without being over-exciting. However, I paid £12 and for that, it is really good vaue for money.

Bought this by mistake and in a rush, promised never to by an 02 again after previous experiences...... Decent nose (PNP cold) slightly plumb, sweet, little cooked, ruby and bright and clear. Can't escape that slightly sickly, candy, prune though a nice age on nose. Too sweet for my taste. 13.5%. Good balance of fruit, tannin, acid and alcohol. Good mouth feel, thick and juicy. Nice if slightly porty. I'm sure will improve in the glass as warms and airs. Not bad for 12 quid (from 16 bin end).....update after 2 hours. Fruit died. Acid and tannin prominent. Yup, this is 02..... Will pour in the lamb lunch tomorrow....
