Saturday Afternoon at Vivo (Denise Wines, Vivocity, Singapore): Pretty simple, but well-made example. Absolutely beautiful pairing with the food we had. Lots of SB on the nose, with smoky, grassy notes at the forefront - almost like smoking a bale of hay. After that initial whiff, some Semillion notes of sweet, candied lemons and accents of grapefruit came out. Lovely fresh balance on the palate, which had clean, lemony, grassy, grapefruit flavours and a touch more grass on the finish. With the Okonomiyaki and Yaki Soba dishes, the grass died down grass, and a musky, perfumy floral note emerged. Very nice for its price.

Fresh, grassy nose. Very SB in terms of aroma. The semillon registers with a touch of weight on the palate, but even so this is pretty much Maggie River SB. Zippy, lively and absolutely perfect for a warm summer evening. Great value too.

Fresh and intense cut grass and gooseberry aromas. Nice crunchy citrus fruit on the palate. A touch of weight on the mid palate from the semillon. Nicely balanced. Fresh, lively, clean and refreshing. Perfect partner for a spicy Asian stir fry.

Faiveley Luncheon and MORE (Makaros @ NLB, Denise Vivo and Le Bistrot): Grassy with some guavas. Clean crisp and decent.

Unoaked, apparently. Very SB on the nose, with elderflowers and gooseberry softened by the semillon inthe mouth. Loved it!
