Half bottle. Deep yellow. Honeyed stone fruit on the nose. Sweet, medium body, beautiful spice, solid acidity. We all agreed that we wouldn't have pegged this as a 2003 since it is so lively. Excellent and has more to give.

Dinner Vertical-Chave Hermitage from the Late 1990's (San Francisco): A pleasure to open one of the half bottles purchased a few weeks ago. Light golden. Huge nose of sweet citrus and some petrol. Concentrated but lively and playful due to strong acidity. Great fruit and spice. This acquitted itself really well even though it followed an older, great late harvest Foreau. Even better the next night.

Half bottle. Deep golden color. Petrol but little botrytis here. Very sweet, melange of ripe fruits, but still manages to be crystalline, shapely, and focused. I preferred this to the 2003 BA by a wide margin. Delicious!
