6 hours of gentle aeration allowed this to blossom into a stunning old cab franc. A bit puny at first, with air it added weight and richness. An old school Loire at its best. Not the sort of wine can be made nowadays

Decanted an hour before drinking. Drunk with lamb roulade and a cherry sauce. Dusty on the nose - NOT corked, Dry on the palate. Rustic describes it well. Mulberry flavours. Typical mature well made Cabernet Franc.

The Embodiment of Memory (Bob's House - Alexandria, VA): A deeply rustic wine with iodine, dried cranberry, subtle olive and cedar on the nose. This was a bit more advanced than some of the other Druet's being served - the intensity of flavors on the palate was a bit more subdued. Despite being a bit quieter, this had an old-school elegance to it. Tea leaf, dried roses, dried cherry and mushroom broth blended nicely together.
