Too bad that drinking wine causes drunkenness, which leads to poor decisions. Popped this in the fridge way too late; wanted to have it before dinner/with salads, but instead had to wait for it to chill and couldn't drink until dessert. This has enough residual sugar to make that okay for some desserts, but not mom's ultra-rich chocolate mousse, which utterly obliterated this poor little flower of a bottle. Luckily, I took a few sips before dessert and can say that this is a nice effort. To me, this is off-dry and a good example of a Washington riesling. Pretty white flowers and white peaches on the nose, and a spritzy little pineapple zing on the palette. I wish I had another bottle to try under better circumstances, but alas, I am a stunad.

(Dunham Cellars Riesling Lewis Vineyard Columbia Valley) Don’t care for the nose which seems grassy. The taste is pleasing but is a touch too sweet. 12.8% alcohol. 529 cases produced.

One of the better Washington Rieslings, which whets your appetite for the real thing from Alsace or Germany.
