  Drank a magnum with friends at a Italian restaurant. This was lovely, very big, nice layered flavors. The magnum was tasting great.

  Outstanding wine. Just enough time in the cellar. Deep inky blackness in the glass. Nose fragrant of briar, blackberry, cassis and smoke. Big ripe vanilla blackberry jam upfront with some tart notes wrapped in leather tannins and cedar smoke finish. Full bodied syrah that is a wonderful sipper.

  Decanted 30 min. Initially on day 1 this was overly acidic (VA) and while decent, not what I was expecting from this producer and vineyard. Day 2, things had smoothed out, with the VA blowing off and the fruit shining through as I had initially expected. Blackberry, a touch of spice, with some tobacco and vanilla hitting the finish. Really well made, but the VA is worrisome for longevity. I'd drink now, if you have any left.

  This wine was twice and good the second time. Perhaps the magnum added to the fullness of this wine. Very balanced and full bodied. Amazing complexity. Everyone, none wine lovers included, enjoyed this wine. One would think with 15.5%, that it may be a little hot, but not the case. Wish I had more.
