From a small capped bottle as part of a zoom tasting. Nose of quince, grilled pineapple. Honey and caramel. Pollen. A but wooly. Big acid but not quite in focus. Dried Apricots. A hint of cinnamon and spice. Saline minerality Palate is similar. Big and grippy with similar flavors. Acid is super high and it seems to be in focus better than the nose. Definitely a beast with the wooly and acid. The finish is big and acidic. Apricots and kumquats tart and assertive. Nose - 4.5-.5/6, Palate - 5-5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 15.5-17/20

This pours deep gold in the glass. The nose is pleasant upon opening ,but really unfurls impressively over the course of the following 30+ minutes. Aromas then blast honey, beeswax, lanolin, wet wool, apple blossom, tarte tanin, mixed leafy herbs, pear, and dry rocky soil. The palate shows the pinch of sugar you'd expect in a demi-sec, with acid that is sufficient, particularly when consumed at low temperature, perhaps only medium. The finish shows the pleasant honeycomb character that is massively appealing, though is also held back by a touch of an irony, burnt caramel bitter note.

Light gold. An initial whiff of maderization blows off to reveal fresh, lively orange blossom aromas. Medium weight with nice fruit and some soil on the finish. Off dry entry but finishes quite dry. Some midpalate dilution and lowish acidity are reminders that this is not a great vintage for this wine, and the oxidative notes return at the end of the bottle. Still good but drink soon as it seems in danger of falling apart, an unusual concern for a Huet wine.

Saffron, pastry cream, clove, curry, liquorice, leather, tobacco, wet stones minerality.
Very dense texture, lovely acidity balances the not-very-aggressive sweetness.
