  • Aromatic nose showing sweet tobacco, pencil lead, red forest berry fruit, loamy earth, and faint spice.

In the mouth, it is a medium/full bodied wine with a velvet texture. Cherry, cassis, red plum, and faint raspberry are the primary fruit flavors followed by substantial earth, herb, and tobacco mid-palate. Finish is more tart cherry fruit, spice, and still a bit of tannin to provide structure, but not overpowering in any way. Also a little bit of oak on the finish that seems to be integrating with time in the glass.

Overall, I've had this wine several times and it has never disappointed, but this bottle was not quite as good I previous bottles purchased on release from Beringer. This bottle was recently purchased from a 3rd party via K&L wines, so I don't exactly how well it was stored. Just seemed a bit more advanced versus what I expected from my previous bottle that had at least another decade of great drinking. Drink now - 2030.

  • Incredibly fresh for its age showing a nice bouquet of forest pine, wild berry, pencil lead, tobacco, and faint spice. Quite aromatic.

In the mouth it is luscious, ethereal, and nuanced showing impeccable balance between elegance and power. Plum, black cherry, cassis, pomegranate fruit is layered and harmonious. Tobacco and earth meld into the finish along with light oak. A world class aged Napa Cabernet that is right in the prime drinking window. Drink now - 2025.

  • One of 3 bottles opened for dinner. Should have given it at least an hour or so to open up. Delicious with sous-vide rib-eye & salad. Muted but still delicious dark fruit. Balanced. Long finish.

  • Excellent, mature Calif. Cabernet. Fully round and developed palate still very good color. No need to wait to drink these as I don't think they will improve much more.

  • A stunner ! Had this sitting in the cellar and thought to pop. Wow was it fine. Youthful bouquet of fresh fruits, loamy earth, and slight tar. The flavors were all classic Napa Cabernet. They included blackberries, lead pencil and black cherry. Longish finish with continuing flavors of plum & black cherry. Impeccability balanced and fresh for 11 years old. I looked up what I paid and believe that this is a real find at $ 68/bottle.
