Roars out of the gate with a smoky, peppery nose and great syrah character and bite. As time went on, it became less and less balanced, ultimately throwing some heat on the backend. I wish this were just a little less ripe.

Last of 4 bottles purchased in 2011 from Wine Access.
black in the glass with a clear rim. Very complex nose - black olives, iron, mesquite, saline, blackberry & blackberry pie. On palate, exquisitie balance with similar complexity to the nose. Full body, medium acidity, integrated tannins and a very long finish. I loved this. Best of the 4 bottles. 93-94 range.

Loved this bottle. It had plenty of spice grilled meat and dark fruit in the nose. The body was balanced with the softer tannins still providing structure and a great finish. This was a wine that rewarded cellaring.

A bit on the jammy side - would have preferred a bit more austere - maybe more time needed. Nonetheless everyone enjoyed so give it a 90.

Probably kept in cellar a little too long. Tannins are nearly gone but can taste some fruit. Helping to deal with Coronavirus.
