  • Wonderful, aged and complex older riesling. Almost no sugar left. Still a bit of fruit. Doesn't need to be paired with anything to be enjoyable. Very refreshing towards the end of Burg night.

  • Amber color. Quite a whiff of botrytis notes including saffron, honey, bruised peach, and fig. Perfectly balanced residual sugar and acidity.

From a perfect bottle. One of about 10 different Auslese that Hanno Zilliken has filled that vintage. Popped and poured. Clear, medium, glowing golden color. Never guessed 35years. Clean, medium+ intense and fully developed that is incredibly multi-layered and complex. Smoke, peat, speck, fine, ripe yellow fruit, slate and a tiny bit of cellar mold.
On the palate the sweetness has blended in nicely. The medium+/high acidity is ripe and perfectly integrated. Only 7,8% abv. It has little to no botrytis, which makes it very clear and airy. At first some vanilla crescent, Speck, smoke and peat all mixed with a clear, fine and ripe yellow fruit. Very elegant and balanced. Mouth coating without cloying. Seems to me resting in itself like a Buddha. Long, 20+ second finish with ripe stone fruit and herbs. Beautiful experience! 93-94
