  • Hmmm, yeah, past its prime and loads of brett. But just below all that a ghost of nice tarry inky fruit swirls in and out -- just not enough...

  • Great color and enticing nose but in my opinion this wine didn't bring the follow-on flavor portfolio to match (even after a few days). This was my final bottle of three which were consumed over a 10 year period and I recall the same tightness in all three that seemingly didn't let the fruit escape...

  • Obviously kept too long. OK wine with dinner but lacking something. Still tastd like a napa cab just missing intensity.

  • This was a shocker to me. Didn't have any expectations, or any clue how this might be showing. Also, while I knew it was stored in chilled conditions for a good part of its life, I didn't know how if it always been stored properly. It poured out a dark plum color. The nose was explosive with the dark red and black fruits of Napa Cab. This wine was in fact quite primary, with blackberry and dark red fruits on the palate. The tannins were present, but harmonious with the medium body of the wine. In fact, this wine drank as well as I could imagine possible, which is very well indeed. There's a dusty earth quality underneath the fruit which emerged with time. Also the fruit developed more sweetness over time. A fantastic bottle of wine. There's no way I would have thought it was ten years old. Almost royal in stature, and a great example of Napa Cab.
