This boasts a gorgeous nose of black cherry with loads of spice, cut flowers, crème brûlée and emerging mushroom. Palate has serious concentration and density with precision that adds length, weightlessness and intensity to the finish. In an early and pleasure-filled peak.

Loved this bottle. Opened at 3:30, poured a sip here and there to slow ox. Went to Goose and Gander in St Helena, decanted at 6:30.
First sip decent, 93ish points. After an hour it really started to unfurl and show what it really was.
Pure velvet. Soft underbelly aromas of strawberry/strawberry pie. Wait, is there such a thing as strawberry pie? Maybe macerated aged strawberries a bit more on point.
Palette was so smooooth and velvety. Coated the mouth with delicousness Finished went on and on and then on again. Finally faded into bliss. Pure class. In a great drinking window which seems will last for a while.
Could be a bit more complex to be in the all star category for Burgundy but this a wonderful representation of a beautiful pinot. California and new wold pinot eat your heart out, can't touch this
Drink now and often )) I doubt it will fade anytime soon and seems to be in a long lovely plateau.

(Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Cuvée Vieilles Vignes) Medium dark cherry red color with pale meniscus; striking, cherry, vanilla, baking spice, red fruit nose; tasty, rich, tart cherry, red fruit, mineral palate with good acidity; medium-plus finish 94+ pts.
(Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Vieilles Vignes) The first few sniffs disappoint, a little undergrowth but little else. Slowly a dense red note builds at the core with a slightly herbal, menthol note above, with time some extra width of high-toned fruit and occasional glimpses of coffee - the herbal element is now much more in the background, just as the nose was almost coming together, but then a little cedar thing started to develop. The palate is dense, plush and very well textured - contrasting to the minerality of Bouchard Père's Chambertin. The tannins come through on the mid-palate onwards and finish slightly bitter but there's a real creamy base and this is probably the longest finishing. With time in the glass the palate remains dense, plenty of silky tannin and exquisitely long if not particularly involving.
(Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Cuvée Vieilles Vignes) Lovely framboise nose; framboise, strawberry, sous bois, mineral palate, but tight yet; long finish

Atlanta Musigny & Chevy Dinner: PnP. Another one that's drinking very nicely right now, but lacks a bit of weight and interest.

Birthday Dinner Featuring Bonneau du Martray and the Very Best of Chambolle-Musigny (The Bristol - Chicago IL): In Musigny flight. Black berries and cherries from start-to-finish with lots of power, yet bright minerality stands out as well. Ripe and balanced at the same time, this is drinking so well now, and should hold well for decades to come.

Friday Night... Great Burgundy Night (Asian Spice House - Buchanan MI): Alongside the 1995. Black cherry and berry, this is a ripe and dense powerhouse, yet easily manages to show great refinement and brightness. Great now, with a long life going forward. Merci, François!
