Upon opening, bitter almond on the nose. Fruit is muted. Best comparison is champagne that has gone flat. On the palate, bitterness dominates on the finish.
With some time, more complex and savory. Much more enjoyable. Developing depth. Always a touch more bitter almond than I prefer, but definitely improves with air. This does not seem to have th structure to improve substantially with age, but is enjoyable now

This wine is initially quite taut, a nose that requires aeration to reveal quite complex aromas of flowers, citrus and ripe apple. On the palate bright acidity is very present, dominating moderately intense fruit flavours and a pleasantly glyceric texture. Nice and fresh on the finish, perhaps lacking a bit of drive and length but all in all a very enjoyable and drinkable wine.

Light-mid gold, the nose exhibits dried nectarine, William pear, gardenia, dried lemon skin, celery salt and some spices. Full-bodied, the fruits are ripe and intense, whilst there is an initial savoury pong on the entry that dissipates to a briny, tar and liquorice note. Quite a spiky-edged hot alcohol gives heat to the back palate, and the dried lemon becomes more candied as the wine opens further. There is only a medium acidity, and the length is medium-long with that persistent richness. The fruit appears to be slowly squeezed out as the wine opens and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. I liked the start but less so the finish.

Don't drink much CDP blanc, but this is just lovely. Sappy texture. In a great spot.

Exceptional bottle. No signs of ageing. Chalky. Resembled a Cotat Grande Cote of the same age.
