Community Tasting Notes (3)

  • A fine medium brick color with purple hues. The nose was rather closed at the beginning, but opened up to reveal lovely notes of game, meat, and violets. On the palate, red fruits tinged with more gamy notes, garrigue and pepper. A medium to full bodied wine, with smooth but noticeable tannins. After three hours, this wine started to sing. A deep, complex wine for a 'Rhone-Villages', it'll last a few more years (A-)

  • Very cloudy and opaque right to the rim; dark berries, plum, smoke and bacon on the nose; full bodied and quite tannic; more bacon on the palate; long finish; I think all the components are there for this wine to age but right now this is far from seamless.
