Bottle: Winebid purchase 10 years ago. Bottom neck fill. Cork only soaked half way up.
Color: Deep ruby garnet. Very pretty considering the age.
Nose: That great resinous nose that old Sebastiani wines sometimes have. Probably from fermenting or aging in redwood vats. Beyond that, dried rose petals, dried meat and cherry compote with a touch of earth. Very nice.
Palate: Light bodied and somewhat dry on the palate. Tart but lively red fruits with a medium finish.
Overall: This was probably much better ten or twenty years ago but it's still very much alive and enjoyable with pork saltimboco so that counts for something...

California treasures in an unexpected place (Fulda): Other people did not like it as much, but I thought that this was a very fine example of an old bottle of California Cabernet. Fat nose of blood, cassis. On the palate funky barnyard aromas, sweet malt, some earth.
