Perfect cork. Now this was definitely a Bordeaux ringer. Forest floor, tobacco, and just a lovely nose of strawberry. On the palate it is elegant and light, still young with plenty of fruit and just a hint of greenness. Got this at auction for substantially more than release price (but still way cheaper than a good Bordeaux), and all I can say is wow Cab Franc can age.

Surprisingly fresh for a 20+ year Chinon, no notes; violets and typical herbaceousness, but this is actually fairly ripe in profile. If I had another bottle that I knew has been properly stored, I'd be curious to revisit in five years.

Green notes from Cabarnet Franc. Nicely melted and integrated tannins. Very nice acidity too. The wine still appears young and should have a long life ahead of it.
