I opened this bottle with some trepidation based on the prior reviews that suggested that the wine was over the hill, funky, earthy, and tired. Fortunately, I found that those reviews were describing a completely different wine - this was absolutely delightful, probably the best wine I've had in the last year (at least).
Visually, the wine is ruby with little fade at the rim. On the nose, there is primary fruit, mostly raspberry, with just a hint of secondary aromas - mushroom and forest floor, with some unobtrusive oak.
On the palate, the wine shows moderate tannin and body, and moderately high acid. Flavors mirror the nose and add a hint of complexity to come with a long finish.
The wine is just entering its drinking window, and I'd expect it to evolve further and last another 10 years or so.

HDH Burgundy Auction; 5/17/2019-5/18/2019 (Chicago, IL): A bit step up from my last bottle -- this wasn't as dirty and funky and showed this crystalline purity of Chambolle fruit that is just spot-on. It's delicate and floral, with some deliciously bright red fruit. Not too intense; this is just delicious now.

Tertiarty, tired and flat on opening. Waited for it to come around. It didn’t. $200 wasted on Wine Bid and a lesson learned on provenace. The fill was good, no leakage, but a dissapointing bottle. 75 points

Wines tasted at HDH Celebration of Burg Auction - Day Two (Spiaggia): This had been open for a few hours by the time I tasted a small glass. It's dense and heavy for a Chambolle without much nuance. Showing good earthiness. Fine, but not exciting.
