Changes markedly after opening. We decanted for approximately 30 minutes prior to tasting. It continues to open throughout the tasting. Taste reminded us of an Australian Shiraz. Initial smell - vinegar, 5 minutes later - funky, 5 minutes later - smooth and fruity. Very enjoyable after unnecessary early concern. Patience pays off!

Needs an hour or more of decanting. Aeration just makes it disjointed. Definitely new worldy fruit-driven. The 40% mazuela (carignane) is grapey at first, but the fruit flavors integrate after a while. Dark, stewy palate with low acidity and a medium finish. The minerality is nice and is really the only thing that separates it from a new world wine. Probabably wouldn't buy again for $30.
