(VIELLES VIGNES La Chablisienne CHABLIS) Chablis DEAL Dear Friends, Ok, I mentioned that we are trying to do our part to keep as many wines at a moderate price as we can but with the state of the economy/dollar this has not been easy. I’ve gone to a number of our favorite sources and asked them to give us at least one wine that we can retail for this price-level. Everyone is aware of the fall from grace of the US dollar and it’s just taken extra work to find sources willing to help out. While the wine of the year lists and accolades are being doled out (the Baumard still has a shot), how about our promised Deal of the Year list? I think deals mean a bit more than wine of the year accolades anyway so we’re going to try our best to offer you scattered crazy deals like this one over the next few months - deals on wine I really believe in (which is the only thing we would ever offer). So, let’s call this our End of Year Deal of the Year Special Deal #1 (EODOTYSD#1). I can sum this offer up in a brief sentence: For the quality level, this wine is a multi-case purchase (and everyone knows how much I can’t stand when retailers make a claim like that). I’ve already consumed at least 6 or 8 bottles of this wine since summer 2006 when it was released and it keeps getting better - it was one of my house wines last year (albeit, for a higher price) and I’ve put the rest of the bottles away for another 6-8 years. It has everything you would want in a true Chablis with an exciting, piquant tone, great minerality, a light ball of mid-palate sap and a freshness and brightness that is usually found at twice this price (or more). Yes, it’s in a heavy, over-sized bottle that gets people irked but it’s certainly not the size of something like Luca Syrah or Tikal Jubilo - it’s just a Champagne sized bottle for a dry wine. What matters is that this wine is excellent and it’s a bottle of top old-vine Burgundy at an amazing price-point (for one of my favorite vintages in Chablis, 2004) - so, here is your everyday Chablis: ONE SHIPMENT ONLY at this price VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for ageing potential and crystal-clear quality at table wine pricing This parcel is in perfect condition, directly from the winery cellar: 2004 La Chablisienne Chablis “Vielles Vignes” Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Burg9881
