I grabbed this bottle to fill out a box as I was backfilling on '01 Rouget's. I had not had this bottling to date and have to say that the wine was very good but probably not worth the price point. The nose is open with red, toasty, brambly fruit, allspice and a hint of pepper. The palate follows the nose and has a medium-bodied, almost Gamay-like quality. The finish is decent and while the wine is texturally light in the mouth it does have fruit and presence. The middle and finish are a little grainy and I suspect this is a combination of both site and vintage. As I said, I like this wine but wish it was half the price I paid ($50).

Super expressive dried petal nose, great stuff. Palate disappoints though, very thin.
