  Deep garnet in color. Nose of cigar box, dark cherries, and hints of earth. Tastes of cherries, leather, tobacco, and hint of menthol. Very dry and well into tertiary flavors. Open pleasantly with aeration. Medium to full body. Solid acidity. A few years past its prime, but very pleasant and a nice food wine.

  The end of my 1997’s Brunello’s and this last one from a magnum was extremely rewarding full bodied profound and great with saltimbocca alla romana. They will be missed.
