  • Surprisingly, this was not weird at all. Just a lovely perfumed fruit-forward wine with cherries, raspberries, leather and the slightest hint of barnyard in the background. More rustic than a beaujolais, but not by much. Very nice wine.

  • Beautiful wine. Little bit rough, but vivacious and richly aromatic, with flavors that are clean, stony and sharp. I'm not sure that I could blindly pick this as something other than good Beaujolais, but to my mind it's a bit more feral and a bit denser than most Beaujolais of a similar level. (The usual caveats apply, of course.) Great with pizza.

Life can be hard. Good Gamay makes it a little bit better.

  • You really have to get to these before they sit for too long, 55 degree cellar or no. This is not true in Frnace, from what I understand. Very good, but not as fresh and energetic as the previous bottles.

  • Concentrated spicy dense Gamay fruit, a lovely blackberry coulis perfume. there is a signature wild streak running underneath. This is just excellent drinking wine, quite versatile with food, and good acidity to cut through the density. Interesting to compare this with a Beaujolais, which even when they are as dense, are never as rustic in my opinion.

  • beautiful loire gamay, and a great value as always. much more mineral showing than the fruit bomb of a month or so ago. good balance, deeply earthy - the wife smelled some coffee here. a pleasure to drink.
