  • Perfectly stored at 55 since release. Slight seepage at cork (1mm into the neck fill) had me a little concerned so i decanted for very fine sediment directly into a clean bottle. No worries mates as this was delicious from the get go. Color is inky dark with garnet & purple hues. 2mm meniscus. The nose is pure dark fruit compote; black cherry, blackberry and a note of honey and a touch of cedar. Flavors are rich but not cloying, more silky softness than velvety with more red fruit coming into play in the back of the mouth and some minty notes coming in on the finish. Initially the tannins are soft but become more noticeable as the initial fruit blast calms down and more moca notes come out as well as a touch of VA and orange peel and with more tome some dill. I am sure it will continue to evolve over the next few hrs. but its tome to drink rather than post. Nice finish which begs for some food so I am going to grill some meat and enjoy. I would recommend PNP and following the evolution as it develops. Not much upside in cellaring but should drink well for another few years.

  • So pleased with this wine - drinking so well right now and definitely still youthful with years more to go under proper cellaring conditions despite the age and entry level status of this wine albeit it is from a respected high end producer. A great QPR at both our cost and avg CT price. Decanted 3 hours, needed every bit and could have stood more air. In a great drinking window right now but still with some youthful elements - with proper cellaring anticipate at least another 3-5 years with more softening but other then that do not see much further upside to further prolonged cellaring and I do recommend drinking up any remaining holdings soon. Whopping 15.5 abv but not a bit hot. Inky black, still quite fruit forward but not a bit jammy or overpowering, long aftertaste and very well balanced. Nose of dark fruit, mocha and heavy eucalyptus with a flavor profile to match of well balanced oak, blackberry, black cherry, smoke and a hint of raspberry jam. Unfortunately this was the last bottle. Definitely recommend this wine and as noted above despite the age and entry level status this wine actually still has years to go although is equally ready to go now.

  • Needed a full 2 hours to start to open - drank well for several hours after. Still vibrant and fruity
