  Almost unbearably oaky, though it seems well-made otherwise. I could only make it through a half glass due to the oak, though. I’ll try it again tomorrow and see if it blows off.

  93-95: outstanding, complex, hearty wine that struck me as a dead ringer for a top end Zinfandel. Spicy, earthy notes on the nose, long, intense palate with a streak of sweet tobacco throughout, this wine finishes above average with a touch of mineral. Still has acid and tannins, there are classic Port notes lingering in the background. Outstanding.

  Aging gracefully, lots of jammy fruit flavors but the tannins are starting g settle in. Not sure it will get better but will get smoother.
