Cream and black pepper show at first on the nose. Notes of hard, dark cherries and a faint eucalyptus tone make an appearance, with a green, leafy aroma as well. A spin in the glass shows vanilla and exotic curry spices, revealing a solid aroma with a nice amount of depth.
Dark and earthy, this wine greets the palate with black cherries, mixed spices, and a nicely tannic grip. Ripe blackberries develop, with pepper, leather, and firm notes of oak appearing on the mid palate and into the finish. This is a well structured wine with a good amount of depth and a solid integration of dark fruit, earth, and oak flavors. Well done and pleasant, this is a wine worth trying.
Clear and opaque with ruby core and thin watery rim. Nose has notes of bell pepper, pencil lead and dried crushed roses. Lush and concentrated palate with flavors of cherry, boysenberry, red currant and tobacco. Medium acidity and tannins, medium + alcohol. Moderate to long finish with over hang of cranberry sauce. Decidedly better after an hour as concentrated lush character began to open and integrate. Definition of new world Cabernet.
