A bottle fresh from the cave when I visited the House in Reims.
Wow what a nose. Honey, fig, spices, almond. Still with bubbles and fizz. Enduring acidity - feels very fresh despite being 40 years old. Palate figs, almond, touch of honey, on finish. Some "good" aged oxidation and touch of a "sweet" (rather than rotting) woodland floor leaves. Really special. 96+

One of the better champagnes i've had for a while. Fully mature but holding very well... A real treat, and one that I preferred out of chablis glasses (rather than out of champagne flutes).

STG End of Year (Roy's): tasted blind A phenomenal bottle of wine. the nose was full of chocolate, caramel, and sweet, generous richness. THe palate was simply delicious. Slightly sweeter, and with less acid than #2 in the flight (the 1988 Krug), it was just drinking in this perfect, sublime way. THis is what aged bubbly is all about - what a treat!

Drinking in a great place now. Beautiful mature notes but still retains a bright liveliness.

Drank at 67 (Magnum)
Complex palate of hazelnut, creme fresh, carmel and almonds. Wonderful
