Very unctuous, with peach and apricot predominate. Even a hint of gewurtz-like lychee. A touch cloying at first, but the acidity kicks in at the end. This would go very well with spicy food. I don't often hold wines from the previous night, but this is one of the few wines I have had that was better the seond night. Some of the power of the fruit is gone, but the acidity seems more pronounced with a little oxidation on the finish - really excellent. Knowing what I know now I would have decanted on the first night. For what I paid for this, it is very interesting and I suspect would be wildly good with the right food combination like foie gras or Thai yellow curry.

Yellow gold. Nice tropical fruit on the nose. Medium to full bodied with high intensity and medium acidity. Layers of tropical and citrus fruit attack the mid palate. This pushes right up to the edge of becoming flabby, but when paired with some cheeses and a spicy chicken skewer, it backs off and becomes quite complimentary. In other words, get some food with this one. Certainly some residual sugar present, but not a dessert wine. Long, fruity finish.

Very nice with Asian noodles and local Utah trout with a Clementine-tarragon sauce. Typical Alsatian--more reminiscent of a Riesling than a Pinot Gris, though. Sweet.
