Originally open this bottle 9 days ago. It was bit tight, and gritty as a PnP. Put a Vin-Vac to it and forgot about it for 9 days. It was so much better than expected tonight. Although a little raisin/prune on the nose initially, it quickly blew off. Rich and nearly velvety on the palate with very ripe and not quite candied red fruits on the palate but also with some nice vanilla Oak and touches of white pepper and dried herbs. For those who drank this wine before COVID, I suspect they missed its best years. Borderline 94 points, but I think my surprise at its quality after so long under the Vin-Vac rubber stopper might be slightly inflating it.

Been many years since I last opened this wine. Grabbed it from the back of the cellar to check it out. Color is a deep garnet red with some faint bricking. I get plums on the nose. In the mouth very smooth and showing lovely subtleties that only come from age. Finish is a bit watery. Enjoyed it. Drink up, I don’t see this getting better but it seems to be fading slowly so no fire drill.
