  • Provenant d'un 3 litres. Sur le déclin, mais a encore de la fraicheur. Similaire à un chardo, bien parfumé.

  • When I drank this it had lost its greatest potential. I could tell what it had been, however. It gave off a lot of vanilla and pineapple on the aroma. Still had good acidity, was dry, and even had pineapple on the taste. It was rich and opulent for the varietal. I would not let this cellar for more than 5 years tops, and that would be only if it were kept in optimal cellar conditions the entire life of the bottle.

  • Soave Tasting with the Chicago Wine Mafia: Another superlative cru, from the stony, volcanic Capitel Croce hillside vineyard, aged in Allier barriques for 12 months. This is one of the few ageworthy wines from Soave with a cellar life of 5 to 6 years. I tried the 2000 at Wine Spectators Grand Tour in Chicago and thought it was a rich, full bodied, opulent almost Chardonnaylike wine. 100% Garganega. This was my favorite dry Soave. Ripe banana's on the nose which followed through onto the palate. This was much less oaky than the 2000 which I appreciated. Full bodied with spicy orchard fruit notes, primarily pear. Long finish. 91-92 points.
