Malbecs: Flavours and aromas of raisins, dates, dried prunes and figs were present beneath the (overbearing) sweetness of the PX. Somewhat lacking in the acidity. Better to pair it with some food or cheese.

Betadine on edges, crystal maple colored center. Nose of dates, walnuts, and almonds. Super thick, alcohol sits nicely in the background, nice long finish of natural maple syrup. Paired with homemade pecan pie and creme brûlée.

A beautiful copper/bronze in color, the nose is packed full of raisons, figs, honey and tea. The palate is the viscosity of motor oil, but there's a fine balance here (for PX), better than the 2000 vintage. Super-rich flavours of honey, raisons, prunes, figs and oranges explode in the mouth, and the finish lasts for over 45 seconds. Wow, this is an amazing, unique wine (no one else makes a vintage dated style of PX) at an outstanding price (A). N.B. 'A' equates to a range of 93-96 for me.

Super as always. Honey, caramel and pancake syrup. Wonderful viscosity. Did very well standing up to home-made vanilla creme brulee.
