Since nobody else has written, I will. Bought this after a tour of the "Cave" and the full treatment at the winery. Tasted from the barrel five years ago this seemed to have potential, which it is now fulfilling. Not for the faint at heart--this is full throttle California Cab. Opaque purple. Greasy legs. Dark fruits, licorice, saddle leather, white pepper and anything else you can imagine on the nose (smelling on the second day) plus a hint of alcohol. No alcohol on the palate, just blackberry, blueberry, the slightest touch of chocolate and well integrated tannins. The finish is not the longest, and it is nowhere near as complex as a high end Bordeaux, but at the price, which is not cheap, I think it is fair value. You would have no compunction serving this to aficionado friends, who would recognize it as Cal Cab but would have a hard time identifying it as something other than one of the cult varieties of recent vintage
