1998 Vincent Arroyo Sangiovese, Napa Valley, alc 13%: Purchased from the winery after a remarkable barrel tasting afternoon...Showing some maturity of color...nose is explosive with violets and roses...palate is rich and semi-sweet with meat and leather notes but also a wide array of floral notes...drinking amazingly well...one of the best "Cal-Itals" that I have ever had the pleasure to try...has several more good years of potential ahead of it.. Bravo

A very smooth and flavorful wine. Not overly bold in any way, but good start to finish. It's still got plenty of life in it, but it probably won't get any better.
