  • The nose showed cherries with chestnut and dark chocolate, yet with time in the glass layers continued to unfurl as notes of tobacco, dried flowers, and undergrowth came forward. On the palate it was beautifully balanced, elegant yet finessed for an Amarone as flavors of sweet cherries, fall spices, medicinal herbs and roasted nuts tempted the senses. It was at once mouth-filling yet fresh, juicy and lasted for almost a minute through the finish.

  • Dark red to almost black in the glass, showing aromas of plum, confectioners sugar, floral fall leaves, coca, roasted chestnut and cinnamon. Cherry cough syrup, raisin, more cinnamon, clove and dark chocolate. It's full and soft on the palate but carried by a hidden layer of acidity that kept it fresh. Long, long cherry, chocolate finish. This was the wow wine of the night.

Important to note that this wine was opened 12 hours before it was poured.
