Opened about 45 minutes before serving and not decanted. A seductive mix of dark red and black berry fruit with a great savory herb quality. Crushed stones. Some smokey game/meat notes as well. Good ripeness of fruit remaining on the palate as well with some decent structure remaining. Medium finish. Well balanced and holding up quite nicely. It got better as it opened up over the next 30-45 minutes. I've still got a case in the cellar and I'm really interested to see how this holds up over the years.

PnP to glass with 20-minutes to breath before tasting. Dark burgundy colored. At first grapey and candied, the nose shows more meaty Italian like - roast beef and iron, rusted nail and dirty, aging fence post. With a strong enough sniff, soapy lavender and dry hay comes through. On the palate, this strikes a milieu of a mouthful of bitter-sweet (emphasis on the later) grape candy or just good ol' plain Welchs grape juice. This juice addresses the palate smooth and simple on the center-tongue growing more acidic, gritty and bitter/earthy/meaty on the sides. Easy, easy drinking making this a perfect intro into extra-US wine for the novice. This is the big brother to Manischewitz, minus the kosher. The little bits and complexities of Herbs de Provence, dried rosemary and twigs makes me almost second guess my assertion, but the simple fruity center that holds this wine together takes me back to it justified. Alcohol way under control @12.5ABV; acid low to medium on my scale; finish shortish. I would recommend drinking this now and over the next couple years. I'm not sure what happens after that -- maybe the fruit diminishes and reveals something more complex and riveting or maybe it turns into limpid, insipid rosewater. Let's see, additional aeration may help here.

A robust Provençal blend of carignan, cinsault, grenache, syrah, and cabernet sauvignon. Juicy notes of ripe red berries, game, and smoke. A very lush mouth-feel is supported by some underlying tannins and ends with a lengthy finish.
