Popped and poured. The cork was a technical, rotating and going down as I uncorked, with the bottom half soaked through. It didn't seem to affect the wine in a noticeable way. Somebody spiked the cherry Kool Aid, or at least that's what's going on here. Everything about this shouts "easy-going". Very light tannins, enough acidity to keep it honest, medium-bodied, and no pesky finish to get in the way. Fruit-driven, with a kiss of creamy oak. Drinking well, but probably won't improve, especially with the cork situation. This could be a low-end Cotes-du-Rhone. Not a ripoff at $9, but there's a lot of competition at that price.

Just had a quick taste (and bought a bottle). Very earthy, leathery and husky for a joven. Refreshingly light, with 12.5% alcohol. I'll give this one a better taste later. Tasty and good QPR @ $9.

Has a slightly medicinal smell, combined with oak and dark fruits. Tastes of plum and mineral, with a slightly peppery and vegetal (olive? bell pepper?) finish. Slightly tannic, but not unpleasant. Much better with food than on its own.

this is a great underrated wine. Tasty. Old school...wine is made in concrete vats! Just a touch of dirt, but not the usual tempranillo slam of mud.
